Dear Families,
On reflection, 2020, has been a very different year for everyone and one that is ever changing with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic – We at the preschool have been made to constantly question, consider, introduce or change our practises to ensure we were meeting the ongoing health and safety needs as well as the educational needs of all our children and their families. At times it has been necessary to reassure our families of the practises and procedures that were needed to be put in place.
During the year at the height of the pandemic we saw the Preschool attendance drop from 80 children per day to sometimes 15 children per day which was extremely concerning as we were unsure of what the future held – luckily it was for only a short period of time. At all times, the staff were responsive and proactive to the changes and continued to support the children, families and each other in a professional manner.
Throughout the year, it has definitely been the ongoing support of our Preschool Community, you the families and our Management Committee that have ensured the preschool continued to provide the high quality education and care of everyone in such challenging times. Your understanding and acceptance of procedure changes such as dropping your child at the door to the classroom, the home learning activity packages, health and hygiene practises, the limitations on incursions, special events and visitors to the preschool, along with your warm and friendly faces have reinforced to us the important role we play in you and your child’s lives, even in such uncertain times.
So an extra huge thank you for all your support throughout a very challenging year.
