Forestville Preschool is a community-based preschool and a proud member of UnitingCare Children’s Services, the 3rd largest provider of community-based education in NSW.
We are licensed to educate 80 children per day aged 2.5 to 5 years. Our teachers are all University educated with Early Childhood Education degrees.
Children usually attend for 2 or 3 days per week. However we can accommodate the needs of our families with 2, 3, 4 and 5 day places available.
Our approach
The preschool environment is a special one and prepares children for primary school. Children are in the same class every week with the same teachers. We find that once our children reach school, they are truly ready for the structure of each day and can then focus on their learning.
We are deeply committed to inclusivity and equal access for all, and value every child as an individual. We aim to deliver a fully inclusive program where children with additional needs and disability can participate on the same basis as their peers.
Through the power of community and support for all families, we help children to unlock and reach their full potential.
- Children's rights - We respect children as active citizens with unique contributions to make
- We champion the incredible and vital gift of belonging
- We actively partner with parents and encourage your input
We are rated as 'meeting' & 'exceeding'
During 2021 our preschool rated as EXCEEDING in ‘Educational program and practice’ and MEETING in all other areas of the National Quality Standards (NQS).
We are very proud of our rating as it is clear validation of the high-quality education and care provided to children and families here at Forestville Preschool.
The NQS sets a high national benchmark for early childhood education and care and outside school hours care services in Australia. The NQS includes 7 quality areas that are important outcomes for children.
Services are assessed and rated by their regulatory authority against the NQS, and given a rating for each of the 7 quality areas and an overall rating based on these results.

Our teachers make all the difference
Our teachers are special….just ask the children.
Each class has 2 Early Childhood trained teachers, one with a University qualification and one with a Diploma qualification.
We offer added support from our experience Resource Team and inclusion support. This means we can educate every child according to their needs.
Quality care for everyone
We are a community within a community, and deeply invested in the families we serve. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, thrive and become the best they can be, which is why:
- We're not for profit - all money is invested back into our service
- We embrace inclusivity and diversity - children with additional needs and from all backgrounds, cultures and faiths are welcome
- Our service reflects the needs and character of its unique community
